Two Davidson Day Alumni and NCISAA Basketball State Champions, CJ Huntley ‘20 and Jackson Threadgill ‘20, will compete against each other as NCAA Division I student-athletes this Friday, Dec. 11.
On Friday, Dec. 11, at 5:00 PM, Huntley and the Appalachian State Mountaineers will travel to play against Threadgill and the UNC-Charlotte 49ers for a regular-season NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball game.

“The season is going well so far, and I’m learning a lot and still have a lot to learn at the college level,” said Huntley. “I’m excited about playing in Charlotte, even though it’s against my former teammate, Jackson. Should be a fun and competitive game!”
The 49ers’ are currently 1-2. Threadgill is averaging nearly 19 minutes per game, and averaging 5.3 points, 1 rebound, and .7 assists per game.
“It’s definitely exciting when you get the chance to compete against a former teammate,” said Threadgill. “CJ and I talked about playing each other all last year, it’s exciting to play Appalachian State on national television, and I look forward to the matchup.”
“I am extremely excited to see both guys compete for their respective squads,” said Davidson Day School Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Coach, Ron Johnson. “I am so proud of CJ and Jackson, they were, and still are, incredible ambassadors for Davidson Day School. I hope our Patriot community will tune in to support our alums.”
The matchup will air on ESPNU on Friday, Dec. 11, at 5 p.m.
