Davidson Day School, in partnership with Cannon School, is excited to host the Lake Norman Area Case Studies Program and College Fair on Sunday, April 27th, 2025.
The case studies begin promptly at 1 p.m. The college fair will be held from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.
College applications can often feel like a mystery, but case studies provide an inside look at the process. By reviewing real applications alongside admissions officers from top universities, you will see firsthand how different factors, including grades, essays, and extracurricular activities, come together in the decision-making process. This is a rare opportunity to think like an admissions officer and gain valuable insight into what makes an application stand out.
Following the case studies, students can explore the college fair with representatives from over 70 universities and colleges!

Below, you will find the resources that will be used for the case studies. Feel free to review the files prior to attendance, but there will be time to review the materials during the session.
We will not provide paper copies of the resources. Please print out the materials or bring a device on which you can access the files. Parents and students will be split into different groups, so each individual will need their own means to access the materials.

Applicants
The files below include the entire applications of three college applicants. Review each application and take notes using the Candidate Review Form, and note how each applicant may be a fit for the fictional institution, Euphoria University.
Guides
Use the advice in the Application Reading Tips document to guide your understanding of what is important about each applicant, and use the Candidate Review Form to take notes about the traits of the applicants that you feel are important and how they would best fit at Euphoria University.

Davidson Day School is located at 750 Jetton Street, Davidson, N.C. 28036. Parking is available in the Davidson Day School parking lot, along Jetton Street, and in designated spaces at 130 Harbour Place Drive. These spaces are highlighted yellow on this map.
