Third-Graders Collect Over 1,700 Pounds of Food for Local Pantry
On Friday, December 6th, our third-grade classes hosted a food drive during morning and afternoon carpools to collect canned goods for the Nourish Up Food Pantry at the Ada Jenkins Center.
Ms. Miller and Mrs. Blackledge’s classes learned about food insecurity in our community, created posters to promote the drive, and spread the word about their drive to their classmates.
Our third-graders collected an incredible 1,719 pounds of food for the food pantry. The Nourish Up Food Pantry at the Ada Jenkins Center is a partnership between the two organizations that provides nutritious groceries to those in need in Mecklenburg County.
We are so proud of our students for their commitment and enthusiasm to helping others in our community.
