The DDS girls basketball team responded well to the Christmas break. The team played great defense creating turnovers and getting out on the fast break. The game was the first round of the Wells Fargo WNC Holiday Tournament. The final score was 75-19 vs. Southside HS SC. Parker Tompkins lead the scoring with 26 points including 6/7 from the F.T. line. Maya Caldwell scored 24 including 3 3 point field goals. Anika Riley continued her tough interior play and finished with 16 points. The girls face a great challenge tomorrow against Henry County High School out of McDonough GA. They feature a fast break quick shooting attack which our girls will have to be ready for. Tip is at 4p in the Justice Center on the Campus of UNC-Asheville.
