DDS beats Northside Christian 52-48 in state semi-final

The DDS girls basketball team advanced to the finals of NCISAA 2A state tournament with a come from behind 52-48 victory over Northside Christian Academy Friday afternoon at North Raleigh Christian Academy.  Parker Tompkins overcame foul trouble to score 16 pts. and grab 9 rebounds.  Anika Riley added a double double with 12 pts. and 11 rebounds many of which were huge down the stretch.  She added two clutch free throws in the final minute to help widen the lead.  Maya Caldwell scored added 11 in the win.  The team moves on to face Carolina Day School in the finals tomorrow at 2 at Ravenscroft School.
