Individual Virtual Attendance

Davidson Day has prepared an educational program for students who need to learn from home, whether due to health concerns or family preference.

Note: the “Individual Virtual Attendance Program” is separate and distinct from the full virtual-learning program that Davidson Day would deploy as the contingency plan should a full or partial campus closure be necessary at any point in the 2020–2021 Academic Year.

There are two processes by which a student would participate in the Individual Virtual Attendance Program:

1) COVID-19 Related Absences (Temporary)

A student, class, or cohort is required to isolate or quarantine due to COVID-19.

2) Family Choice (Full-Year)

A family may opt into the school’s virtual attendance program by August 1, 2020.

  • Families must opt-in to this program for the duration of the 2020–2021 Academic Year.
  • Students will receive full academic credit for participating in the individual virtual attendance program.
  • This program is designed for students in 4th grade and up; however, if you have a student in a younger grade and would like to discuss the virtual attendance option, please contact Wes Wehunt, Head of Early Childhood-8th Grade.
  • This program is a “window into” the classroom and modifications will be made so that virtual attendance students can participate to the fullest extent possible.
  • Students will be able to log in and stream their classes in real time, based on their class schedule.
  • This program is a full-tuition program that is only available to current Davidson Day School families.
Davidson Day School is an independent private school for students 2 years old through 12th grade in the Lake Norman region of Charlotte.
