The DDS girls basketball team improved to 13-1 on the year with a decisive 80-44 victory over Henry County HS out of McDonough GA. The girls played really good half court man to man defense and got out on the fast break to take a 45-22 half time lead. Maya Caldwell did another stellar job defensively on a primary scorer holding the other teams leading scorer ( 25ppg) to 13 for the game. She also scrored 20 points on the game. Parker Tompkins had a game high 30 points including 6/8 from the F.T. line. Anika Riley once again added toughness on the glass and had a very effiecient 15 points. Courtney Meadows had 12 pts. including 8/10 from the FT line. The win moves the girls in to a rematch vs. 5x state 2A champ Carolina Day School tomorrow at 5:30 in the finals of the WNC holiday basketball tournament.
